Don't you just hate it when somebody does a half-assed job of something, then claims it's "good enough", or offers some weak explanation, like you're supposed to give a fuck? I do, and I get mighty peeved about it.

Roger is indeed a mighty peeve, rippling with muscle, alive with vibrant power, every instant a hair's breadth from explosive action. His senses are acute, like those of some predatory jungle cat. Don't try to put anything over on Roger... he misses nothing. Roger is always ready at my side.

... and, boy, does he need to be, because people are fucking amazing. They'll do anything to avoid applying their brains and doing something right. They don't even know how to do it right, because all they've ever bothered to learn about what's usually their job is a few "cookbook" ways of dealing with specific situations. I'm not just talking about laziness here. These people would rather slave in the hot sun for days than sit down for 10 minutes and think about what they were doing.

Not that they're not lazy. Now, mind you, I have nothing against laziness, but if you say you're gonna do something, and you start in to do it, and you're going to believe you've done it, then why not fucking do it right?

It's a fucking miracle anything works at all.
