Am I a Hypocrite?

So, after all my bitching about gratuitous graphics and pages that require Netscape, here I am putting a picture on every page and using the occasional Netscape tag. Am I a hypocrite for that? No. Here's why:

1. These aren't work pages. You don't have to be here. You're not my customer. You're not paying for this page. I'm not supposed to have to be nice to you.
2. My images are small. The biggest image in the whole peeve area is under 5KB. No page has more than two images; most have only one.
3. My pages still basically work OK if you turn off images. You lose the cute peeve graphics, but that's it. You don't lose anything but the cute peeve graphics.
4. My pages view OK with any browser. You miss a couple of cutesy things... and those things are things I couldn't do at all without the features they use, anyway. The vast bulk of the stuff is still available.
5. ... and the big one. Cutesiness is the point of this stuff. The time I spend screwing around with the images is my own, and isn't time taken away from the real purpose... screwing around is the real purpose. What really frosts me is people spending so much time on raytracing their logos that they forget to put any information on their pages.

Of course, you may not agree... you may think that any use of images, or Netscape enhancements, or whatever, is a grievous sin. I guess you live cleaner than I do. I hope it gets you into Heaven.
